Hi! My name is Heather and I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a passion for pediatrics. I am registered through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics - Commission on Dietetic Registration and I am Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist in the State of Pennsylvania.

 

I understand that feeding a family is no easy task and no kiddo or family is the same. I want to help you and your child foster a healthy relationship with food and their body for a lifetime. I work with pediatric patients, birth through age 26, and their families and physicians to promote health and proper growth. I use evidence-based recommendations and practice medical nutrition therapy to develop an individualized care plan unique to your child's needs.  I also enjoy providing nutrition education and improving health status by creating access to nutrient rich foods.

I have a rather unique background for a dietitian as my education includes a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University. ​Although I loved my profession in engineering,  I became interested in achieving formal education in nutrition, preventative medicine and nutrition therapy with the goal of becoming an advanced nutrition practitioner.  I went back to school in 2016 and in 2019 received my Masters of Science degree in Nutrition from Marywood University. I graduated from my dietetic internship at Geisinger Medical Center - Janet Weis Children's Hospital with a focus in pediatric clinical nutrition. I also have experience in academic graduate level teaching and research.

In my free time, I enjoy gardening, reading, running, cycling, open water swimming, traveling and spending time with my family. I am a lover of furry friends - especially bulldogs :)
